வருகின்ற தை முதல் பல்கலை விரிவுரையாளர்கள் பிரச்சனைகள் முடிவுக்கு வரலாம்

ஒரு சில மாதங்களாக பலருக்கும் மத்தியில் பேசப்பட்டு வந்த விரிவுரையாளர்கள் வேலை நிறுத்தம், தொழில் சங்க நடவடிக்கைகள் ஒரு இறுதிக்கட்டத்தை அடைந்துள்ளன.
கடந்த வாரம் நிதியமைச்சு மற்றும் ஜனாதிபதியின் செயலாளர் ஆகியோருடன் நடை பெற்ற பேச்சுவார்த்தையின் போது ஓரளவிற்கு சாதகமான தீர்மானங்கள் எடுக்கப்பட்டன.

தொகுப்பின் ஆங்கில வடிவம்

On the strength of this assurance on behalf of H.E the President, the FUTA delegation led by Professor Sampath Amaratunge, with Dr. Rohan Fernando, Prof. Sudantha Liyanage and Dr. S.R.D. Rosa met with Dr. P.B Jayasundara on 6th September 2010 at 8.00am at the Treasury in a positive and cordial environment with Dr. Jayasundara asking the Head of the FUTA Delegation to explain current realities concerning the problem. After a lengthy discussion, with the Treasury Secretary the following positions were established:

(a) That the new revisions should be done on the salary scales proposed by the FUTA through the Ministry of Higher Education to the National Salaries and Cadre Commission (NSCC) and Secretary to the President, on 13th August 2010
(b) That the Treasury has accepted the proposals submitted by the FUTA through the Ministry of Higher Education
(c) The proposals will be included in the forthcoming National Budget of 2010 and accordingly, university academics will get a promising remuneration package until action is taken to streamline the basic salary of university academics.
(d) Recognize academics as a distinct professional category
(e) That the Treasury would propose a performance based allowance system along with additional payments for those who hold doctoral degrees in the future.
(f) That the FUTA as proposed by the Treasury will work on Service Minutes (to mean a document that brings together the procedure for recruitment, promotion, leave entitlements etc.,
relating to academic staff).
(g) FUTA reassured the government that academics have the public interest as the foremost consideration and regard their national level obligations as sacred as professional rights.
